Time for a Spending Ban?

Hi there everybody!

No I am not dead but yes, I am dead busy. Also, I guess on the whole - uninspired and less motivated to chronicle my daily makeup adventures right now.

Although I have stopped blogging regularly, I haven't stopped buying. Seeing as to how my purchasing power has significantly increased over the course of the year, accompanying my stress levels plus the fact that my choice of therapy is retail therapy -- TA-DA! More shopping ensues.

Which honestly is not healthy, especially when you forget what you have bought and it comes to the point of overrunning your desk and eating up to the space on your bed, or your bookshelf or film shelf. NNNOO.

So maybe it is time for a ban and time to start shopping my stash instead. I don't exactly know how I am going to do this but I will.

Maybe this is the new direction I need to steer the blog towards. Instead of spending, we go to discovering. However, seeing as the upcoming month will be crazy busy, dunno how I will keep up. But maybe with my new Acer Aspire V5, I might ;)

Also, I am blogging book reviews on my other blog karrameh. I am hoping to start on film reviews too because I am more excited for films and TV rather than books (sssh! don't tell my employers!!) Nothing much is there at the moment, but hopefully I'll get a bit more motivated with my new laptop :)

Thanks for reading!

What's In My Makeup Bag 2013

Being in a pinch to get ready for work these days, I have managed to streamline my makeup routine down to the bare basics. However, because I just got back into the routine of wearing makeup (aka have been out of practice for a long time), so actually I am taking as long as I used to when I used to do a full face of makeup. Sigh.

On to the subject of the day!

Still using my trusty Givenchy pouch to store my daily essentials. Sometimes I leave it at home, sometimes I bring it out with me especially if I am meeting friends after work.

Face Basics:
Nip + Fab CC Cream in "Dark" - I really love this. I bought it without reading up reviews because it's one of those things I have stopped doing. The colour is a perfect match, the consistency and coverage is great for me - evens out my skintone, covering up slight blemishes and overall gives a "smooth" look to the skin.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in "Dark Peach" - Because I am lazy, I mainly just use this for my under-eye circles (something that is now permanent on my face unless I have had a good night's sleep - which is rare!). I know you're supposed to use this under concealer, but I just dab this on, sometimes before and sometimes after my Nip + Fab CC Cream.

MAC Studio Fix Powder foundation in NC42 - this powder foundation is trusty and handy. What more can I say.

Eye Basics:
Anastasia Brow Powder/Urban Decay eyeshadow in "Buck" - I'm using up quite a bit of my "Buck" eyeshadow from my Naked palette that I think I'm hitting pan soon, so I thought I'd get the Anastasia Brow Powder. Couldn't quite get that to work for a while, so I bought the "Buck" eyeshadow single. I think I have found how to make the Anastasia one work, will keep the Urban Decay one on the side for now. I have the Ecotools angled brush for application.

Revlon Grow Luscious eyeliner in "Espresso" - This I love. It's now a stub and I need to get some more of this - it's creamy, glides on like a dream, doesn't smudge. I heard it's getting discontinued, so I am going out tomorrow after work to grab me some of these before they disappear :( I line my top lash line with this and it's just perfect.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Pencil in "Bronze" and "Nude" - I line my waterline with "Nude" and then line my lower lashline with "Bronze". It's easy breezy and gives my eyes that bit of definition to make them stand out.

Lip Basics:
Nivea Pure & Natural Lip balm in Olive and Lemon (not pictured) - I carry this in a separate pouch, where I store my ezlink card, because I literally carry it everywhere with me.

It Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush Lip Butter in "In Love" - This feels and looks like the Revlon lip butter in "Red Velvet" but gives off just the sheerest hint of red. It also hydrates your lips forever and ever, even after the colour wears off. Super comfortable to wear and such a dream to apply.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in "16! - This lipstick is just, ugh, beautiful. It's coral and fun but not too in your face bright and I can definitely wear this to work without people going "Eww what is that?" The formula is beautiful and gah, I love the colour so much.

Other essentials:
My trusty Travalo, with my dearly beloved Chloe perfume :)

I don't faff around with blush and eyeshadow much anymore and so I try to incorporate fun and colour on my lips and using coloured eyeliner. Let me know what are your daily makeup staples.
